Demi Moore, Gwen Stefani, Molly Sims and Hilary Duff were among the celebrities who turned out to fete Los Angeles-based handbag designer Nikki Erwin for the launch of her fine jewelry line, Established. Erwin, who was Jennifer Meyer’s first employee when she launched her jewelry line 11 years ago, has other friends in high places, including composer David Foster’s daughters Sara and Erin Foster, who hosted the party at Soho House West Hollywood. “Nikki’s my best friend from high school. When we were growing up she’d always make jewelry and get so many compliments,” said Erin. It was the sisters who urged mom of three Stefani to come out on a school night. “I don’t get out often, but they were like, ‘Come to my thing!’” Stefani told WWD. “A lot of friends are here and the jewelry is really beautiful. It’s definitely stuff that I would like and wear and I’m happy for the girl that made it. I don’t know her, but she seems to really have good taste.”
Rachel Zoe declared a rose gold and diamond razor blade-shaped necklace “sick” while Meyer said, “I’m into it. I can’t wait to purchase a few of the pieces. I love what she’s doing.” The collection of edgy, Art Deco-meets-rocker anklets, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, and rings range from $225 to $28,000 and is available for custom order on Erwin’s website. As for the name, the designer said, “I wanted a strong name that was like, ‘Whether you like it or not, I’m here.’” In going bold, she even drew a collection of men to her party, including Roger Federer and Ron Burkle.
